To become a member of MAP costs just £8 a year for groups/organisations. Membership is open to any voluntary organisation that has a charitable purpose and operates in Mid Suffolk.

• Conduct regular research in order to maximize the number of voluntary and community groups in Mid Suffolk that we are aware of and in touch with. This will ensure that we are as representative as possible of the voluntary sector and are able to provide services to as much of our target market as possible.

• Communicate to the voluntary and community sector in Mid Suffolk to find out what key problems and issues are affecting them.

• Organise events and projects to address common needs that are affecting the voluntary and community sector.

• Keep the local voluntary and community sector informed of news that may be of interest to them through a monthly newsletter and regular emails.

• Provide a help / support service to the sector in respect of any problems that voluntary organisations may have.

• Arrange training courses to address training needs within the sector. MAP members will receive a discounted rate.

• Arrange regular funding surgeries in Mid Suffolk, providing funding advice to voluntary groups in the district.

• Provide a strong voice at local and county council level to make sure the voluntary sector’s needs are clearly understood by the policy makers.

• Provide meeting room with kitchen facilities at a reduced rate for members.

• Provide a large garden area for the use of voluntary and community organisations.

• Manage the Red Gables Resource Centre in Stowmarket, providing affordable office space to a number of local voluntary organisations.

• Allow our office and computer facilities to be used by local voluntary organisations and community groups who need it.
