Red Gables, home of MAP, is a grand Victorian house set in approximately an acre of gardens. It provides a unique working environment, far removed from a normal office building. As well as maintaining these historic surroundings MAP has, in recent years, begun internal modernization of Red Gables to ensure that it continues to provide a home for local voluntary organisations in the future.
The Old Library - Training/Meeting/Community Facility
As well as providing a home for tenants, The Red Gables Resource Centre also offers ideal facilities for other functions. Red Gables has a meeting room available for hire at extremely competitive rates. The Old Library is a self-contained venue ideal for meetings and is regularly used by local charities and community groups. It provides the following facilities:
- Seating for 50 people
- 6 large tables
- Kitchen with catering facilities such as a fridge, kettle, microwave, cups and saucers
- Disabled access and toilets
- Free parking
- Full central heating
It costs just £5.50 per hour for members and £6.00 per hour for non-members to hire the room.
There are ambitious plans to extend the Old Library, providing additional meeting rooms and office space for the benefit our local voluntary sector. Watch this space!
Gardens
We are fortunate to have such a large and pleasant garden area at Red Gables. The gardens are available for voluntary organisations to hold events in and are perfect environment in which to erect a marquee (perhaps in the summer!)
As with the Old Library, there are plans to extend and improve the garden in the near future and we’ll let you know of developments. In the meantime, if you are interested in holding an event in our garden, please contact us.
Office Facilities
If you need access to office facilities from time to time, please contact us. We have computers with internet access, printers and a photocopier. There is no charge except for printing and photocopying.
Bookings
To enquire about availability and make bookings of any of the above, please contact the MAP office.
